Before you get started, make sure:
To generate and send discount codes or affiliate links via Upfluence, your store must be integrated. We support:
Native integrations: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce
Discount codes or affiliate links must be generated directly in Upfluence to be usable in campaign emails.
🔗 If you’ve created codes outside of Upfluence, they won’t appear automatically. Here’s how to import existing discount codes into Upfluence
Two ways to send codes and/or links to influencers
1. Email the code or link
Option 1: From a Campaign (recommended)
Open the email editor in the Campaign (Workflow) where you want to send the code or link.
Click the third bubble at the bottom — the tracking plan linked to your campaign.
Click to add the merge fields
{{promo_code}}
and/or{{affiliate_link}}
into your email content.
When the email sends, each influencer will receive their own unique code or link automatically.
Option 2: From the IRM or Inbox (if you don’t have Campaign workflows)
Open the email editor from the IRM or Inbox view and write your email.
Click the third bubble at the bottom labeled “Select a tracking plan.”
Select the tracking plan, then click “🔗 Link” to connect it to your email.
Click the bubble again and insert the merge fields
{{promo_code}}
and/or{{affiliate_link}}
.
Just like in Option 1, these fields will auto-fill with the correct data when the email goes out.
⚠️ Important: Only influencers already added to the selected tracking plan (with an assigned code or link) will receive the email. If someone isn’t part of that plan, their email won’t be sent.
2. Let influencers find their code in the creator space
Once you Approve an influencer in your campaign, their unique code and/or link will appear in the Campaign tab of their Creator Space.
Note: If you changed your mind and revoked their approval, the code or link will instantly disappear from their view.
