  • Number of Posts: Total tracked posts.

  • Estimated Impressions: Potential audience reached.

  • Total Estimated Reach: Combined audience reach of all posts.

  • Total Engagement: Total likes, shares, and comments.

  • Estimated Media Value (EMV): Estimated value of the media exposure.

  • Return on Investment (ROI): ROI is calculated based on campaign expenses input in your settings.

  • Audience Demographics: Breakdown of the engaged audience.

  • Average Engagement by Publication Time: Trends in engagement based on when posts are published.

Learn more about these metrics: Upfluence Metrics Guide.

2. Post-level metrics:

  • Scroll down the report to view individual posts and their performance metrics.

  • Available metrics vary depending on the post type (e.g., Instagram Story vs. X post).

Types of content that can be tracked:

  • Instagram: Posts, Stories, Reels

  • YouTube: Videos, Shorts

  • X: Public posts*

  • TikTok: Videos

  • Pinterest: Posts

  • Twitch: Streams

  • Blogs: Articles

*🚨 X Posts: X (formerly Twitter) has implemented a change that affects the availability of posts. As a result, only a portion of X posts remain publicly accessible, limiting automatic collection. You can still manually import individual X posts using their URLs. Learn More

3. Influencer filtering

  • When a list of influencers is selected in your Stream settings, the stream will automatically collect only those influencers' posts and performance data.

  • To filter posts by a specific influencer:

    • Go to your Stream dashboard

    • Use the "All creators" drop-down to select a specific influencer

Note: The influencer filter is only available if a creator list is selected in stream settings.

Frequently asked questions

1. Why are the number of "posts" and "matches" showing on the Stream report different?

The numbers of Posts and Matches in your Stream report may differ due to the specific criteria set in your stream settings.

  • "Posts" count includes all the posts that meet the filters you've applied, such as location and date.

  • "Matches" refers to the posts in the database that do not appear in your stream because they do not meet certain criteria, such as the specific date range or the influencers you're targeting.

This distinction helps you understand the scope of content captured by your filters versus the broader set of content available.

2. Why is the number of views in my stream report different from what I see on Instagram?

The difference in the number of views between what you see in your stream report and on Instagram itself stems from two distinct Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Instagram reels:

  • video_view_count: This is the actual number of views of a video or reel per user, which corresponds to the view count visible on Instagram's desktop app or mobile app.

  • video_play_count: For reels, this indicates the number of times the reel has been played, including repeats. This figure can be higher since reels often play on a loop.

In the stream reports, video_view_count is reported. This metric is chosen because it offers a consistent number across different types of media on Instagram (videos, reels, etc.), despite not matching the view count displayed on Instagram's interface.

3. How often do you update the data on stream reports?

Data on stream reports is updated at regular intervals, generally between a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 4 days. However, the frequency can vary based on several factors that determine the priority level for content updates, such as:

  • The social media platform (some are updated more frequently than others).

  • The activity level of the influencer.

  • Whether the content is re-imported into our system.

4. How long will the stats remain for a post in a stream?

The stats for a post will remain as long as the Stream is active, with no automatic deletion of content from the stream. However, it's important to note that the Stream will only update data for posts published within the last 90 days and among the creator’s last 100 publications. Engagement data for posts older than 90 days and the creator’s last 100 publications will not be automatically refreshed.

5. Why are views and reactions on the streams different from those on YouTube, TikTok, X (Twitter), and Instagram?

There are two reasons:

  1. Timing of data capture:

    • For recent posts, each piece of content is captured at a specific date and hour, reflecting the insights available at that moment. Due to our regular update intervals, there might be discrepancies between the numbers seen in stream reports and the live data on social media platforms.

  2. Instagram’s updated Like display policy:

    • Since March 2024, Instagram only shows non-ad likes publicly on a post, excluding likes that originate from Facebook if the post is shared there as well. Logged-in users may see higher like counts, yet Upfluence only access and display data that is publicly available.

6. How accurate are Upfluence’s estimated impressions and reach?

Upfluence's estimated impressions and reach become more accurate with a larger number of posts in your stream.

Generally, you can expect a difference of about 5 to 10% from actual figures. Additionally, posts are updated in the stream within four days of being posted on social media platforms, ensuring that the data is relatively up-to-date.

7. Why is there an ER% discrepancy between your platform and other platforms online?

The discrepancy in Engagement Rate (ER%) between Upfluence and other platforms may occur because Upfluence calculates and aggregates the engagement rate over the last 90 days. This timeframe for calculation might differ from the methods used by other platforms, leading to variations in the reported ER%.

8. How can to check the EMV (Earned Media Value) of individual posts?

You can see the EMV of individual posts by filtering down a stream.

9. When an influencer has likes hidden, can we still see this info on Upfluence, or is it hidden for us as well?

It is hidden for us as well, as Upfluence only has access to information that is publicly available on Instagram, including like counts.

10. Can Twitch posts be added manually to a Stream?

No, Twitch posts can't be added manually to a Stream. the only type of content that can be manually added to a Stream report is livestreams.

11. Is there a limit with exporting posts from Stream report?

No, there is no limit to exporting posts from the monitor dashboard.

12. Will story contents be included when exporting a Stream report?

No, exporting a Stream report will only include the engagement data from the stream. No posts or story content will be downloaded.
