1. Why are the number of "posts" and "matches" showing on the Stream report different?
The numbers of Posts and Matches in your Stream report may differ due to the specific criteria set in your stream settings.
"Posts" count includes all the posts that meet the filters you've applied, such as location and date.
"Matches" refers to the posts in the database that do not appear in your stream because they do not meet certain criteria, such as the specific date range or the influencers you're targeting.
This distinction helps you understand the scope of content captured by your filters versus the broader set of content available.
2. What does selecting "content" for Twitch or YouTube when setting a stream mean?
For Twitch: When you set a stream and choose the "content" field type for Twitch, it means that the system will look for the keyword in the stream's Title, Tags, or the Game being played.
For YouTube: When setting a stream and selecting the "content" field type for YouTube, it indicates that the keyword must be mentioned in the video description.
3. What's the difference between the stream tool and content in a campaign?
The content tab in a campaign tracks all the influencers who have been added to your campaign dashboard. This focuses on individuals you are actively considering or working with in a specific campaign.
The stream tool, by default, tracks all influencers in the Upfluence database, providing a broader overview of potential influencer matches based on your criteria, regardless of their current involvement in your campaigns.
4. Why is the number of views different from Instagram views in my stream report?
The difference in the number of views between what you see in your stream report and on Instagram itself stems from two distinct Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Instagram reels:
video_view_count: This is the actual number of views of a video or reel per user, which corresponds to the view count visible on Instagram's desktop app or mobile app.
video_play_count: For reels, this indicates the number of times the reel has been played, including repeats. This figure can be higher since reels often play on a loop.
In the stream reports, video_view_count is reported. This metric is chosen because it offers a consistent number across different types of media on Instagram (videos, reels, etc.), despite not matching the view count displayed on Instagram's interface.
5. How often do we update the data on stream reports?
Data on stream reports is updated at regular intervals, generally between a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 4 days. However, the frequency can vary based on several factors that determine the priority level for content updates, such as:
The social media platform (some are updated more frequently than others).
The activity level of the influencer.
Whether the content is re-imported into our system.
6. How long will the stats remain for a post in a stream?
The stats for a post will remain as long as the Stream is active, with no automatic deletion of content from the stream. However, it's important to note that the Stream will only update data for posts published within the last 90 days. Engagement data for posts older than 90 days will not be automatically refreshed.
7. Can I capture posts that were made before the campaign and stream were set up?
Yes, you can capture posts made before the campaign and stream setup. However, consider the following:
Tracking Period: Ensure the tracking period is correctly set in the stream/content settings.
90-Day Limit: Only posts made within the last 90 days can be automatically tracked.
Manual Addition: For posts older than 90 days, you can manually add them by following the instructions here: How to Import Missing Posts to a Stream.
8. Why are views and reactions on the streams different from those on YouTube, TikTok, X (Twitter), and Instagram?
There are two reasons:
1️⃣ Timing of Data Capture: For recent posts, each piece of content is captured at a specific date and hour, reflecting the insights available at that moment. Due to our regular update intervals, there might be discrepancies between the numbers seen in stream reports and the live data on social media platforms.
2️⃣ Instagram’s Updated Like Display Policy: Since March 2024, Instagram only shows non-ad likes publicly on a post, excluding likes that originate from Facebook if the post is shared there as well. Logged-in users may see higher like counts, yet Upfluence only access and display data that is publicly available.
9. How can I use a stream to calculate my campaign ROI?
To calculate your campaign ROI using a stream, follow these steps:
Set a CPM for Your Brand: Determine a Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM) that is specific to your brand. This CPM value will be utilized to calculate the Estimated Media Value (EMV) on the results page, indicating the worth of the publications.
Input Campaign Expenses: Enter the total amount spent on all publications in the campaign. This includes payments to influencers, production costs, and any other related expenses.
Calculation of ROI: The ROI is calculated by comparing your EMV to the campaign expenses. The formula used is ROI= (CampaignExpensesEMV−CampaignExpenses)×100.
If your ROI is above 0, it indicates a successful campaign outcome, meaning that the engagement and impressions generated exceed the budget you allocated.
10. What does the location refer to when I set up a stream?
The location setting in a stream corresponds to the country of the influencer if it is specified. If the influencer has not specified their country, then the location will refer to the post geolocation, which is more commonly available for Instagram (IG) posts.
11. Is it possible to remove an end date from a stream that's already been running and capturing content?
Yes, it is possible to remove an end date from a stream that's already been running and capturing content. To do this, go to the settings of the stream, scroll down, and remove the end date at the "Tracking period" section.
12. How accurate are Upfluence’s estimated impressions and reach?
Upfluence's estimated impressions and reach become more accurate with a larger number of posts in your stream.
Generally, you can expect a difference of about 5 to 10% from actual figures. Additionally, posts are updated in the stream within four days of being posted on social media platforms, ensuring that the data is relatively up-to-date.
13. Will story contents be included when exporting a Stream report?
No, exporting a Stream report will only include the engagement data from the stream. No posts or story content will be downloaded.
14. Can I create Creator Space accounts for my influencers and upload stories instead of them to ourselves to a stream?
Yes, you can create Creator Space accounts on Upfluence, connect your creators' IG account to it. This allows you to upload your creator stories to the stream for them, as Stream report populates stories based on the Instagram account connected to the Creator Space account.
15. Can we see the EMV (Earned Media Value) of individual posts?
Yes, you can see the EMV of individual posts by filtering down a stream.
16. Can Twitch posts be added manually to a Stream?
No, Twitch posts can't be added manually to a Stream. the only type of content that can be manually added to a Stream report is livestreams.
17. Is there a limit with exporting posts from Stream report?
No, there is no limit to exporting posts from the monitor dashboard.
18. When an influencer has likes hidden, can we still see this info on Upfluence, or is it hidden for us as well?
It is hidden for us as well, as Upfluence only has access to information that is publicly available on Instagram, including like counts.
19. Why is there an ER% discrepancy between your platform and other platforms online?
The discrepancy in Engagement Rate (ER%) between Upfluence and other platforms may occur because Upfluence calculates and aggregates the engagement rate over the last 90 days. This timeframe for calculation might differ from the methods used by other platforms, leading to variations in the reported ER%.
