If you don’t see certain influencer posts in your Stream report, there could be several reasons—ranging from platform restrictions to misconfigured settings. This guide breaks down the most common causes and how to check for them.
1. The post is too recent
Posts may take 1 to 4 days to appear in the Stream, depending on:
The platform (some update more frequently than others)
The influencer's activity level
Whether the post has been re-imported
2. The creator’s account is private or the post includes restricted content
Upfluence can only access public content. If a platform hides or removes a post for violating its community guidelines, or if it places restrictions due to the nature of the content (e.g., adult themes, regulated industries), that post becomes inaccessible to Upfluence.
Posts may not be collected if:
A. Platform restrictions apply (especially Instagram)
Instagram may block access to posts involving:
Regulated industry content:
Alcohol
Tobacco or vaping products
Cannabis or CBD
Prescription drugs or dietary supplements
Sexual wellness or adult content
Weapons or ammunition
Flagged or moderated content:
Misinformation
Hate speech
Harassment or abusive behavior
Explicit or violent content
Check Instagram’s sensitive content policies or creator-controlled visibility settings.
B. Creator-controlled visibility
Some creators limit their content visibility to followers or specific age groups.
🕵️ How to check if a post is public:
Instagram:
Open the post in an incognito browser window (without logging in to Instagram).
If the post or profile doesn’t display, it’s restricted and cannot be imported into Upfluence.
These rules are enforced by Meta, and there’s no workaround via Upfluence.
Tiktok:
Visit the influencer’s TikTok profile > click Share > then Embed.
If the message "Profile not available" appears, that profile is restricted.
3. Filters are missing or too narrow
When setting up your Stream:
Choose "Any" to collect content across all platforms
Select both "Instagram" and "Story" if you want to track both feed and story content
Avoid unnecessary location filters, as not all posts include location data
4. Incorrect or missing keywords
Upfluence only tracks posts that exactly match your defined keywords, hashtags, or mentions.
Typos or incorrect formatting will cause posts to be missed
Posts missing your keywords cannot be added manually later
5. Field types aren’t configured correctly
Double-check that you're using the correct field types for tracking (e.g., “Content,” “Mention,” “Hashtag”).
6. Tracking dates are misconfigured
By default, the Stream captures posts from the past 6 months. If you’ve set custom dates:
Make sure the post you’re checking falls within the date range
Otherwise, it won’t be included
7. Display date doesn’t match the post
Check your Stream’s display filters to ensure they cover the post’s publish date.
8. Influencers weren’t in your original selection
If you selected a list when setting up the Stream:
Only influencers on that list at that time will be tracked
Adding influencers later? You’ll need to reselect the updated list
9. Influencer is not in the Upfluence database
We can only track influencers present in the database.
To check:
Use the Upfluence Chrome Plugin
If they’re missing, click “Add Influencer” to include them

10. Instagram account isn’t connected (for Stories)
Stories are private data, so we can only collect them if the influencer has connected their Instagram account to Upfluence.
11. X (Twitter) posts are no longer public
Due to X's recent changes, some X posts are no longer public, which prevents automatic collection. You can still manually import individual X posts by using their URLs.
Final tip: Give the system time
Not all of these reasons may apply depending on your stream settings and campaign goals. After making updates or changes, allow 1–2 hours for the system to refresh and start collecting relevant content.
