1. How does the search engine work regarding historical posts and keywords' historicity?

When you conduct a search in our tool, it analyzes all post content from the last 90 days across all influencers in our database. This includes posts on various platforms, and for YouTube, it specifically examines the video descriptions to find relevant keywords.

2. Does the search include comments made by the influencer on other accounts?

No, the search does not consider comments the influencer might have made on other accounts.

3. Do keywords include comments followers made on the influencer account?

No, the search for keywords does not include comments made by followers on an influencer's account.

This practice is to ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, as followers' comments are considered private data and must be treated with respect to privacy laws.

4. Do archived lists get excluded when I select "exclude all lists" in search filters?

No, when you choose "exclude all lists" in the search filters, archived lists are not excluded. This is because archived lists cannot be selected with this option.

5. If an influencer is rejected on a list, will they still show up on new searches' result?

Yes, an influencer who is rejected on a list will still show up in new search results unless you choose to exclude the list when searching.

6. If I reject influencers on a list I make, and I don't want to see them in future results I get on the platform, when I select the list to exclude section, do I still get those influencers in future results/new lists?

When you use the search filters to exclude specific lists from your search results, both accepted and rejected influencers in those lists will be excluded from appearing in future search results. This means you will not see those influencers in future results or new lists.

7. How can I find a specific influencer in order to check their data and possibly add them to my List?

To find and check data on a specific influencer, and then potentially add them to your list, here are two ways:

✅ Use the Chrome Plugin: This is the best practice if you have direct access to the influencer's social media profiles, especially if you're unsure whether the influencer is in our database.

✅ Use the Search Tool: If you know the influencer's social media handle, you can directly search with "@" + their social media name.

8. How can I add people to a list from JUST having their email and NO media URL?

  • If you have only one profile to add, you can Google the individual's details and add them through the Chrome extension.

  • If you have a long list of profiles to add but lack the URL to the influencers' profile pages, it's necessary to have the URL for adding them directly. In such cases, using Live Capture is suggested as an alternative approach, but influencers who didn't have their email address in our database won't be matched and added to your account.

9. What does the "Last activity" stand for in Search tool?

The "Last activity" metric refers to the last time the influencer posted content on their social media platforms, and it is defined specifically for each social media platform.

10. Is the data available for historical periods such as for audience demographic evolution over time and historic reach?

No, the data for historical periods such as audience demographic evolution over time and historic reach is not available.

11. When selecting "Has a blog" in the search - what blog platforms does that include?

Selecting "Has a blog" in the search criteria is designed to be inclusive of all types of blogs, regardless of the platform they are hosted on. This broad category encompasses a variety of blogging platforms and personal websites where influencers might share content.

12. How do I find influencers older than 60+?

To find influencers older than 60+, you can add the keywords "60+" and modify the age bracket to "35-54" in the search parameters. This approach helps narrow down the search to potentially include older influencers.

1. How Does Upfluence Obtain Emails for Influencer Profiles?

⭐️ Legal Compliance:

Upfluence adheres to legal standards and platform regulations, avoiding methods that do not respect the rules of platforms like YouTube and Instagram. Therefore, it does not engage in practices that could be considered illegal for collecting email addresses.

✅ Primary Method for Email Acquisition:

Upfluence primarily acquires an influencer's email from their social media biography. If an influencer publicly lists their email in their bio, Upfluence can capture and use this information to enrich the influencer's profile.

✅ Manual Email Addition:

You have the option to manually add an influencer's email to their profile if it's obtained through other means. Emails added manually are kept private, accessible only within your team, and not shared externally.

✅ Limitations on Email Collection:

✔️ YouTube: Upfluence cannot collect email addresses when a CAPTCHA prevents access to this information.

✔️ Instagram: Some influencer's email addresses are only accessible through the mobile version, and Upfluence does not collect emails from Instagram App due to these restrictions.

Which means, if you can get their email addresses from the place mentioned above, you can always add them to creators' profile page and start your automated communication with Upfluence!

2. Can Upfluence sync more than one email address to an individual creator/influencer/profile?

Yes, you can:

  • Add an "Agent email" to automatically contact the influencer on multiple email addresses.

  • Also add as many CC/BCC as you need.

3. How often are influencer’s emails updated?

There’s a rule that make sure email addresses are working. If we detect a bounce on a specific email address, we delete it from the database. Besides that, email addresses are not really updated when there’s an email available.

4. How do you calculate your Engaged Audience Real %?

We use several factors to check if an influencer's followers are real. Our method is stricter than some platforms and based on two ideas:

1️⃣ Fake accounts usually follow many others to seem valid.

2️⃣ Fake accounts rarely create content that attracts followers, meaning they have few followers themselves.

We apply a strict rule: if someone follows 10 times more people than are following them back, we might consider them not genuine. For example, if you follow 1000 influencers but only 100 follow you back, you could be flagged.

5. Why is your engaged audience information different from Instagram's?

The engaged audience information we provide might be different from what influencers see on their Instagram.

We focus on showing the audience that actively engages — those who like and comment on posts — reflecting a true picture of active followers. In contrast, influencers on Instagram see the total count of all their followers, regardless of their engagement level.

6. Why is there an ER% discrepancy between your platform and other platforms online?

The discrepancy in Engagement Rate (ER%) between Upfluence and other platforms may occur because Upfluence calculates and aggregates the engagement rate over the last 90 days. This timeframe for calculation might differ from the methods used by other platforms, leading to variations in the reported ER%.

7. How is the "avg engagement by publication time" built?

The "avg engagement by publication time" is built using the following method:

✔️ Create Cohorts: Posts are grouped into cohorts based on the day and time they were published.

✔️ Calculate Average Engagement Rate: For each cohort, the average engagement rate is calculated.

This approach allows for analyzing how engagement varies depending on the time and day of publication.

8. What's the metrics historicity in search results?

The metrics you see for each profile are calculated from posts made in the last 90 days. If you don't see any metrics for a particular influencer, it's likely because they haven't posted anything during this period.

9. How often does the system update influencer data metrics such as engagement and followers?

Our system updates information about influencers, like engagement and followers, regularly. This can happen once a day or up to once every ten days. How often the updates happen depends on a few things:

  • Social Media Platforms: Certain platforms may receive updates more frequently due to their inherent dynamics and user engagement levels.

  • Influencer Activity: The level of an influencer's activity, including their posting frequency, can impact the update frequency, with more active influencers seeing more frequent updates.

  • User Engagement: Influencers who are part of a stream followed by one of our users or those who have their content actively monitored by our users may have their data updated more promptly to ensure relevancy.

  • Content Re-importation: If content is newly imported or re-imported into our system, it triggers an update to ensure the latest data is reflected accurately.

10. Why I still don't see an influencer's engaged audience data after 7 days?

You might not see audience data for an influencer after 7 days for a few reasons:

  • Not Enough Posts: The influencer needs to have made at least 100 posts in the last 6 months for us to analyze their audience.

  • Not Enough Comments: If there aren't many comments, Upfluence takes longer to analyze the audience, leading to data that's less reliable. The more comments there are, the quicker and more accurate the analysis.

Our AI analyzes the audience based on comments on the influencer's Instagram posts. It looks at each commenter's profile to figure out their age, gender, and location. Without enough data, we can't provide audience information.

11. How does Upfluence calculate the "response time" of influencers?

The "response time" of influencers is calculated by averaging the time taken for influencers to respond each time they are contacted.

12. Is LDA based solely on Instagram?

Yes, the Lifestyle Demographic Analysis (LDA) is based solely on Instagram. It focuses on the engaged audience of Instagram and identifies influencers with at least 71.6% of their followers being above the age of 21.

13. When do "Brand Mentions" on an Influencer's Profile Come From?

The "Top Brand Mentions" on an influencer's profile reflect the last 90 days. We order these brands based on how frequently they are mentioned, not by how recent the mentions are.

14. Are Brand Tags Considered as "Brand Mentions"?

No, "brand mentions" only include mentions in the captions. We do not count brand tags as "brand mentions."

15. How do we differentiate an influencer who is simply spamming brand mentions?

We do not differentiate if an influencer is simply spamming brand mentions. However, such behaviors are fairly rare among professional creators.

16. How often are posts from influencers updated to Upfluence?

Posts from influencers that are not being tracked on any Stream are updated every 5-10 days.

17. Can I change the order of Upfluence search results? How do you order your search results?

You cannot change the order of the search results. When you search, each influencer's profile is scored and ranked based on two key factors:

  1. Audience Score: Influencers with a balanced number of followers—neither too many nor too few—are rated highest. It's like we grade on a curve, aiming for a sweet spot.

  2. Relevance Score: This looks at how often they mention the topic you're searching for, both in total and as a proportion of all their content.

These criteria ensure that the influencers who show up first in your search results are not just popular but also closely related to what you need.

18. Are there any limits for the influencer side panel PDF exports?

No, there are no limits for the influencer side panel PDF exports.
