How to pay creators using Upfluence Pay

Pay creators individually or in bulk using your Upfluence Pay account

Upfluence Pay is definitely the easiest way to pay creators among all existing payment methods. Let's find out how to pay creators with Upfluence Pay.

Before you start

Make sure all of the following are in place before paying:

  1. You have sufficient funds in the account you plan to pay from.

  2. All documents are submitted: creators have uploaded their invoices and tax forms.

  3. Upfluence Pay is selected: creators must claim their payment using this method.

Assigning an Upfluence Pay account to payment requests

Each payment request must be tied to an Upfluence Pay account. This determines which account the funds come from and which platform (USD or EUR) the creator needs to use to claim the payment.

You can set a default account at the campaign level so it's pre-selected every time you create a payment request. To do this:

  1. Go to your campaign settings and open the Compensation section.

  2. Select Upfluence Pay as the payment method.

  3. Choose an account from the Upfluence Pay account dropdown.

  4. Click Save.

The default account will be pre-selected whenever you create a payment request for that campaign. You can always change it for an individual payment without affecting the campaign default.

If you don't have an Upfluence Pay account yet, you'll see a Configure banner instead of the dropdown. Click it to open your integration settings in a new tab and create an account before continuing.

  3. Confirm or update the Upfluence Pay account to use. If a default is set for the campaign, it will be pre-selected.

  5. Click See details to review the full fee breakdown.

  6. Click Pay to confirm

Important: Payments CANNOT be canceled once processed.

Option 2: Pay individually

  4. Choose how to handle the currency conversion fee (if applicable).

  5. Click Pay with Upfluence Pay.

What happens after you pay

Once payment is submitted, you'll see a confirmation with the number of successful transactions. Payment statuses update in the table automatically.

  • Processing: the payment is scheduled. Funds are transferred to the creator's Upfluence Pay account after a default 5-day (120-hour) delay.

  • Paid: funds have reached the creator's Upfluence Pay account.

If any payments fail, a popup will show which ones failed and why, alongside a summary of successful payouts.

Additional notes

  • Creators must claim their payment using Upfluence Pay for you to pay them using this method.

  • For international payments, the currency conversion fee is shown clearly and you choose who covers it during payment.

  • Once a payment is made, it can’t be canceled.

  • Need a record of your transactions? See How to export Upfluence Pay transaction history.

How long until the creator receives the money?

Upfluence Pay payouts typically happen in two steps.

1. Transfer to the creator’s Upfluence Pay account

By default, Upfluence Pay transfers are scheduled 120 hours (5 days) after you pay.

Creators can choose to receive funds immediately by clicking Get paid now. A 5% instant payment service fee applies.

2. Payout to the creator’s bank account or card

Stripe sends the funds from the creator’s Stripe Connect account to their linked bank account or card. This transfer typically takes 24 to 72 hours, depending on the bank’s processing time.

FAQs

1. I want to pay a creator but another payment method is selected. What should I do?

This means that you have allowed other payment methods in your campaign settings and that the influencer has decided not to be paid with Upfluence Pay.

To resolve this:

2. I don't have enough funds, what should I do?

Add funds to your account at any time. See How to set up and top up Upfluence Pay in different currencies.

3. My payment failed with the reason "this payment has already been made." What does that mean?

This usually happens when you and a teammate try to pay the same creator at the same time. Coordinate with your team and retry if no payment was actually completed.

4. Can I use Upfluence Pay without setting up a Campaign?

No. A campaign is required to use Upfluence Pay.

5. How do currency conversion fees work?

A Stripe currency conversion fee applies when the creator's Stripe account currency differs from your Upfluence Pay account currency. The rate is 1% for USD accounts and 2% for EUR accounts.

At the time of payment, you choose whether to cover the fee yourself or deduct it from the creator's payout. The fee is shown in the payment summary and included in your transaction export (influencer_conversion_fees column).
