Choosing a "Paid Promotion" campaign means:
You will pay influencers a flat payment for their work,
You may offer them sales commissions based on performance,
But no physical gift will be sent to your creators.
When you choose "Paid Promotion", the settings and stages are tailored for this type of campaign. You'll need to set up your payment information, and edit four basic email templates for each step of the campaign.
You can further customize each step by creating your own follow-up emails.
1️⃣ Invitation and it's follow-ups: Invite influencers to join your campaign and encourage them to respond or apply via the application form.
2️⃣ Drafting and it's follow-ups: Encourage influencers to post or collect drafts for review and feedback.
3️⃣ Publication and it's follow-ups: Notify influencers that their content is approved and provide instructions for publication.
4️⃣ Payment and it's follow-ups: Notify your creators to claim their payment and collect their invoice and tax forms (optional) via the payment link.
Step-by-Step Guide
I. Set up the basic information about your campaign
After choosing your campaign type - Paid Promotion, follow guide How to create a campaign to fill in the general details and set up your campaign.
II. Set up your payment details as compensation
1. 💳 Payment methode settings
On the campaign settings page, under the Compensation tab, define your basic payment settings related to influencer payouts. This information will be displayed to influencers when they claim their payment.
You can also specify if you require an invoice or a tax form from your creator during the payment request.
2. Set up Payment terms details
When setting up payment terms for your influencers, you’ll need to specify the billing country. You have two options:
United States of America
Other countries
Based on the selected billing country, certain documents may be required from your influencers when they fill in their billing details. Specifically, W8/W9 tax forms are mandatory for U.S.-related partnerships to proceed with payments.
Reminder: What are W8 and W9 forms, and when are they required?
These forms are used for tax purposes in the United States and are required based on the location of your company and the influencer:
W8 form: Needed when a U.S. company partners with a non-U.S. influencer.
W9 form: Needed when a U.S. company partners with a U.S. influencer.
No forms required: For all other partnerships (e.g., non-U.S. company & non-U.S. influencer or non-U.S. company & U.S. influencer).
From the influencer's point of view:
Based on the influencer's country and the billing country you've set in the Workflow, the system will automatically request a W8 or W9 form if needed. Simple and hassle-free!
3. 💰 Default payment offers settings (Optional)
Before inviting influencers to your campaign, you can set up your offer. Setting an offer beforehand will give influencers the option to accept your offer, or reject then make a counteroffer.
If you choose to not set up an offer, influencers will be asked to provide the price they want.
The offer can be set at scale or individually on influencers' profiles. Learn more on Setting up payment compensation in the Campaign App?
