Learn why emails weren't send out and how to fix it.

If you are here, it is because you have received an email that mentions that one of your mailings cannot be sent because of a specific error. Don't panic, most of these errors have solutions.

At the bottom of your mailing, you will find a list of errors. Please click on the respective error below to get more information:


Merge fields errors

Related errors:

  • field_missing

  • unknown_variable

Solution:

This means that one or more merge fields present in your mailing content are missing from the influencer profiles present in your mailing. To solve this problem, simply add the missing merge fields to the influencer profiles. Learn more on how to edit merge fields.

When you edited the missing value, you can click on "Retry" to send your email.

NOTE: If you have multiple influencers with missing value, it is best to pause your mailing and run it again once you added all the missing value

Credentials errors

Related errors:

  • credential_disabled

  • invalid_credential

  • merge_field_error

  • credential_revoked

Solution:

This means that the integration with which you send your emails (Outlook or Gmail) has been disabled. To resolve this issue, please reconnect the disconnected email address in your integration settings and restart your mailing.


Promo code error

Related error:

  • promo_code_unavailable

Solution:

This means that your email contains the merge field {{promo_code}} but the influencer you wish to send your email to does not have a code assigned for the selected discount offer.

To resolve this issue, simply generate a code for the impacted influencer(s). When this is done, you can click on "Retry" to send the email.

Affiliate link error

Related error:

  • no_affiliation_link_generated

Solution:

This means that your email contains the merge field {{affiliate_link}} but the influencer you wish to send your email to does not have a code assigned for the selected discount offer.

You first have to select influencer(s) and generate or assign a discount offer. If you don't know how to do this, you can follow our guide here: How to create and assign discount codes to influencers from the Community App. When this is done, you can click on "Retry" to send the email.

Third-Party error

Related error:

third_party_exception

Solution:

It means that your emailing provider is blocking email sending from Upfluence for a reason we don't know. Usually, your email provider sends you an email to inform you about the reason for the blocking. The situation is usually resolved 24 hours after the last email was sent.
