If you're experiencing difficulties using the Upfluence Chrome Plugin, you're not alone. Recent changes by Google have impacted how third-party cookies are handled in Chrome, which can affect the functionality of all extensions that require to authenticate the users.

Why do you need to enable Third-Party cookies on Chrome?

Google has initiated changes to its privacy policies, particularly regarding third-party cookies. As part of this effort, they're gradually blocking by default third-party cookies for Chrome users. This shift in policy can interfere with the operation of certain Chrome extensions, including Upfluence.

What problems might you encounter?

  • You have an Upfluence subscription: You are not properly identified and are some data are not accessible.

  • You are a Plugin freemium user: You are requested to log in into Upfluence to access the plugin


How to enable Third-party cookies on Chrome?

Start by opening the plugin on any social media profile (i.e. https://www.instagram.com/caseyneistat/)

➡️ If you notice an “Eye” icon on the Chrome URL address bar

  • Click the eye icon to open the Tracking Protection panel, there's currently a limit restricting Upfluence access to third-party cookies by default.

  • Click the toggle to temporarily allow third-party cookies for Upfluence:

The plugin should now be accessible 😄 If it's not the case, follow the guidelines below.

ℹ️ You'll need to re-do this process for each social network you access (Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, etc.). Once activated, cookies are active for 90 days.

➡️ If you don't see an “eye” icon on the Chrome address bar:

  • In the Google Chrome browser, at the top right, click More (3 dotted) and then Settings.

  • Click on “Privacy and Security” section in the navigation bar and then, click “Cookies and other site data”

  • Ensure that the toggle switch next to “Allow all cookies” or “Block third-party cookies” is enabled to allow third-party cookies.
