Performance tracking is key for successful collaborations with brands. Since Stories are private content, tracking them requires your explicit consent. This can be done either automatically or manually, depending on your preference.
The automatic process is the most accurate and time-efficient method, and it is highly preferred by brands. By opting in, you ensure seamless tracking that helps brands measure the impact of your collaborations while respecting your privacy.
Note: The connection between the your Instagram account and Upfluence Creator Space lasts for 90 days. After this period, the connection will need to be reauthorised to continue tracking stories.
How the Instagram connection works
Once you connect your Instagram account, the link to Upfluence lasts for 90 days. After that, you'll need to reconnect to continue automatic Story tracking.
You can start the connection process from three quick-access areas in Creator Space:

How to connect your Instagram account
1. If you already have a professional account:
Click Connect in any of the locations listed above.
You’ll be redirected to Instagram in your browser — log in with your credentials.
On the pop-up, leave "Access and manage insights" toggled on, then click Allow.
🔒 This permission only gives Upfluence access to content related to your brand collaborations. Personal posts are never accessed.
Once connected, you’ll see a green light and the message "Instagram connected" — you’re good to go!
2. If your Instagram is not yet a professional account:
Click Connect in any of the locations.
Log into Instagram in your browser.
You’ll be prompted to switch to a professional account. Click Change.
Choose either Creator or Business, then click Next.
Select your account category and click Done to finish the switch.
Click Continue > Done, then leave "Access and manage insights" toggled on and click Allow.
You’ll see a green light and the status "Instagram connected" once it’s set up successfully.
What happens after connection?
Automatic Story import
Stories are pulled into Creator Space at least once every 24 hours. To ensure accurate tracking, include relevant hashtags or mentions in your captions.
Manual upload
If a Story doesn’t get pulled in automatically, you can upload it manually. Once added, you’ll see whether the Story was imported or uploaded manually.
🔌 You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time. This will stop automatic Story tracking.

When connecting your Instagram to Upfluence, you’ll see a permission called “Manage your business.” This is required so Upfluence can:
Track Instagram Stories related to your brand partnerships
Display those Stories in your Creator Space
