On Upfluence, you can start 1-on-1 email conversations with influencers directly from the Influencer Side Panel.
You can access an influencer’s side panel in two ways:
Open the Influencer’s Side Panel using one of the methods:
Open the Upfluence Chrome Plugin while viewing an influencer’s profile.
Click on the influencer’s profile name from any tool within Upfluence.
Click "Email" > "Start Conversation". In this tab, you can:
Send a direct email to the influencer.
Reply to their emails.
Create a new email thread.
View all past email exchanges with that influencer.

1. Can I use merge fields in direct messages to influencers?
Yes, you can use most of the merge fields when sending a direct message to an influencer through Upfluence. Here's how to incorporate them into your messages:
Adding merge fields: When composing your email reply in the side panel, start typing “{{“ in the message content area. Doing so will trigger a window to pop up, giving you access to all the merge fields available in your account.
Restrictions: While merge fields can be incredibly useful for personalizing your messages, please note that you cannot use them to add campaign-related merge fields, such as an application_link, in your individual replies.
Fallback values: It's important to mention that fallback values for merge fields are not available through the side panel. This feature is exclusively accessible on the mailing template editing page.
2. How can I cc someone in my email?
You can CC or BCC someone in both new emails and replies.
Click "CC" or "BCC" when composing a new email.
Add the recipient’s email address.
Make sure to save your changes before sending.
🔔 Note for bulk emails: If you CC someone in a bulk email, they will be looped into every individual email thread with each influencer.
For replying to an existing email thread:
Click "Reply" and then "CC/BCC".
Enter the email address and hit Enter on your keyboard to save it.
💡 Pro Tip: If you're in a thread with multiple recipients and want to reply to all, go to the "Email" tab in the influencer’s profile. Click the ↰ Reply to All button next to "From".
