Upfluence PayPal Integration helps teams pay influencers with just one click!
Before connecting your PayPal account, make sure:
You have a PayPal Business account (personal accounts won’t work).
PayPal Payouts is enabled on your account. This feature is not automatically available for all accounts, especially for non-U.S. users.
Important: These steps are only required for making payments. Influencers receiving payments do NOT need to complete this process.
How to switch to a PayPal Business account
Upgrading to a PayPal Business account is free and easy:
Log in to your PayPal account at PayPal.com.
Go to Settings.
Scroll down and click Upgrade to a Business account.
Enter your business details and click Agree and Continue.
How to enable PayPal Payouts
Step 1: Check if Payouts is enabled
Go to PayPal Account Status.
Scroll down to the Permission Name column and check if Payouts is enabled (it should have a ✅ green checkmark).
If Payouts is not enabled:
U.S. merchants: Request access to PayPal Payouts after meeting the listed requirements.
Non-U.S. merchants: Contact your PayPal Account Manager or customer support and follow this guide: Enable PayPal Payouts for Non-U.S. merchants (EMEA).
Step 2: Getting your PayPal API credentials
To connect PayPal to Upfluence, you’ll need two groups of API credentials:
Group 1: Get your NVP/SOAP API credentials
Open a new tab and go to NVP/SOAP API management.
Select Request an API Signature (this is required to access your PayPal balance from Upfluence).
Generate your credentials and keep this page open.
Group 2: Get your REST API credentials
Click on “Developer” on the main menu.
Enable Live mode (top-right corner).
Click API Credentials.
Click Create App, enter a recognizable app name, and click Create App again.
Copy and save the Client ID and Secret Key somewhere safe.

Step 3: Connecting PayPal to Upfluence
Open Upfluence's Integration page.
Paste your NVP/SOAP API credentials (Group 1) into Box 1:
API Username > Username
API Password > Password
Signature > Signature
Paste your REST API credentials (Group 2) into Box 2:
Client ID > Client ID
Secret Key 1 > Secret
Click Add PayPal account to finalize the connection.
🎉 Your PayPal account is now integrated with Upfluence! You should see the connection confirmed in your account.
