How to use Upfluence Marketplace for creator outreach

Target and connect with the right creators effortlessly

Updated this week

Upfluence Marketplace is an AI-powered matching system that connects your brand with relevant creators. Instead of manually searching for influencers, you simply define your ideal audience and creator preferences, and our system does the heavy lifting for you.

Here's how it works:

  • Our AI analyzes your requirements and identifies creators who match your criteria

  • Your campaign appears in the Marketplace tab of qualifying creators' accounts

  • We automatically send email invitations to top-matching influencers to ensure visibility

  • Interested creators can apply directly to collaborate with your brand

How creators see your campaign

When Marketplace is active, creators experience your campaign in two ways:

1. In their Marketplace dashboard

Qualified creators will see your campaign listed in their Upfluence account under the Marketplace tab. → See how it appears to creators

2. Via email invitations

Top-matching creators receive email invitations about your campaign opportunity. → See the creator email experience

Setting up Marketplace

When to set up

You can activate Marketplace in two ways:

  • During campaign creation: Step 2: Information > Creator Marketplace

  • After campaign creation (Recommended): Campaign Settings > Creator Marketplace

Setup steps

  1. Enable Marketplace: Toggle off "Hide campaign from creators looking for collaboration opportunities."

  2. Define your targeting:

    • Brand Info:

      • Fill out your Brand name.

      • Select your Brand industry topics from the dropdown.

    • Audience Info (Your ideal customer):

      • Audience country (the market you sell in).

      • Audience gender (ideal customer gender).

      • Audience age (ideal customer age).

    • Creator Info (Your ideal influencer):

      • Creator country.

      • Creator language.

      • Select preferred social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch, Pinterest).

    • Follower Base:

      • Set minimum and maximum follower counts for influencers.

Note: If you select multiple platforms, the search uses an "OR" approach, meaning influencers need to meet the criteria for just one of the selected platforms.

  3. Set application limits (Optional): Choose how many creators can apply before your campaign is automatically removed from Marketplace.

  4. Save your settings: Click "Update Campaign" to activate matching and outreach.

Before you launch: Essential checklist

Complete these steps to maximize your campaign's success:

  • Upload a complete campaign brief:
Include everything creators need to know:

    • Deliverable requirements

    • Brand/product introduction

    • Content guidelines and expectations

    • Timeline and deadlines

  • Set your compensation

For paid campaigns, configure your rates before going live:

    • Go to Campaign > Settings > Compensation

    • Set Default flat payment

    • Set Default affiliate commission (if applicable)

⚠️ Important: If you skip this step, creators will not see any compensation, which discourages applications.

Managing applications:

Identifying Marketplace applications

Creators who applied via Marketplace appear with a special icon next to their name in your Campaign table.

Reviewing applications

For each application, you can:

  • Approve: Accept the creator for your campaign. Their application will automatically move to the "Accepted" tab in their creator dashboard

  • Decline: Click the "X" to reject. Their application will automatically move to the "Rejected" tab in their creator dashboard

Note: Creators can see the status change in their dashboard but don't receive email notifications about approvals or rejections.

FAQs

How many creators are in the marketplace?

All creators in Upfluence's database are eligible, provided they match your criteria. The number of available creators is continuously growing.

How are creators matched to my Campaign?

Creators are matched automatically based on your targeting preferences (e.g., country, gender, age, social media platform). If their audience meets your criteria, they’ll receive an invitation.

Are influencers in the Marketplace verified?

No, Upfluence is not an influencer agency. Creators who apply are not affiliated with Upfluence, and their inclusion is based solely on the criteria you set.

Can I check who the creators are?

Unfortunately, no. You’ll only see the creators who match your criteria and have opted into your campaign.

Can I limit the number of invitations?

No, but you can set an "Application limit" in the Campaign setup. Once this limit is reached, the campaign will be removed from the Marketplace, and no further creators will be able to apply.

When does Upfluence invite influencers to my campaign?

Invitations are automatically sent once Marketplace is activated. Make sure all your setup is ready before turning it on to avoid sending invitations prematurely.

What happens when enough applications are received?

Once the application limit is reached, your campaign will be removed from the Marketplace. Any creators trying to apply after that will see a message stating, “We’re all set for now.”

Which social media platforms can I use as criteria?

You can select Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch, and Pinterest as your desired platforms for influencer outreach.
