Upfluence Data Security FAQ
Updated over a week ago

Is our data and our clients' data secure?

Yes! All data collected through our integrations is encrypted.

The data is encrypted, but how does this work?

Clients setting up integrations provide a shared secret on the Upfluence platform. This shared secret is used to set up your integrations, and the integration credentials are fully encrypted. You can change the shared secret at any time, which will remove our access to the integration, ensuring data security and client control over access.

Which country is Upfluence data hosted in?

Our data is hosted in United States of America (US)

What is your data archiving and deletion policy?

Our policy depends on the type of data, but we generally delete data on demand. We also make daily backups that are stored in the United States and replicated across different Data Centers.

How long do you retain personal data for?

We retain personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was processed.

What technical security measures are in place to protect user data?

To protect user data, we implement several technical security measures including:

  • Password hashing

  • Encryption in the rest of our data stores

  • Encrypted backups

  • Regular system updating and maintenance

  • Detailed infrastructure monitoring

Who is your data hosting provider?

Our data hosting provider is Amazon Web Services (AWS).

What does Upfluence do with the data collected by integrations?

Nothing. Upfluence does not store any customer data shared via integrations, except for your mailing history on the Upfluence platform. Once an integration is deleted, Upfluence loses access to any data related to you or your customers. The only records retained are those of your influencer marketing email history on the Upfluence software.

Is it true that Upfluence does not keep any of its customers or their data on file?

Yes, it is true. Upfluence does not store any data collected about our clients(you) or your customers, except for the mailing history with influencers.

The only data stored from integrations are records of email threads sent via integrated emails but originated on the Upfluence platform. Upfluence does not read or store any email threads from integrated email addresses that are not threads started on the Upfluence software.

Why does Upfluence store these email threads?

Upfluence stores these email threads to provide you with a complete mailing history of all emails sent from the Upfluence software. This allows you to access your influencer marketing mailing history regardless of whether you remove or keep an integration.

This seems great but I’m no tech guru. How do I know that our data truly is safe in Upfluence's hands?

Upfluence ensures data safety through several measures:

  • Compliance with GDPR.

  • Verification by Google for G Suite clients.

  • Undergoing the process to receive Soc 2 certification (Type 1).

  • Conducting penetration testing to assess security.

Are there any other security measures which we should be aware of?

Yes, Upfluence plans to add 2-factor authentication (2FA) to the software soon. This measure is to further ensure the security of the integration and its data on your end, in addition to the existing security protocols.
