At Upfluence, we take data security seriously. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about how we protect your data and your clients’ data.
1. Is our data and our clients' data secure?
Yes! All data collected through our integrations is encrypted to ensure security and privacy.
2. How does Upfluence encrypt data?
When setting up integrations, users provide a shared secret in Upfluence. This shared secret is crucial for configuring integrations, and all credentials are encrypted.
You can change the shared secret at any time, which will revoke Upfluence’s access to the integration. This ensures data security and user control over access.
3. Where is Upfluence data hosted?
Our data is hosted in the United States (US) and stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
4. What is Upfluence’s data archiving and deletion policy?
Our policy varies based on the type of data, but we generally delete data on demand.
We create daily backups, which are stored in the US and replicated across multiple data centers.
5. How long do you retain personal data?
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was processed.
6. What technical security measures does Upfluence have in place?
We use multiple security measures, including:
Password hashing
Encryption for stored data
Encrypted backups
Regular system updates and maintenance
Infrastructure monitoring
Two-factor authentication (2FA) for logins and sensitive actions (e.g., payments)
7. What does Upfluence do with data collected from integrations?
Nothing. Upfluence does not store any customer data shared via integrations, except for mailing history within the Upfluence platform.
Once an integration is deleted, Upfluence loses access to any data related to you or your customers. The only records retained are your influencer marketing email histories.
8. Does Upfluence store customer data?
No. Upfluence does not store any data about our clients (you) or your customers—except for email history with influencers.
Why does Upfluence store email history?
We keep email records so you can access your full influencer communication history, even if you remove an integration.
Upfluence does not read or store any email threads from integrated email addresses unless they originate within Upfluence.
9. How does Jace AI (OpenAI) handle email data?
Upfluence only sends email data to Jace AI (OpenAI) when a user clicks "Reply" — it is not sent by default.
📌 If your team has restrictions on AI-related features, contact our support team via live chat. We can disable AI-related features for your account.
OpenAI’s data privacy policy:
OpenAI does not use customer data from the API to train or improve models unless explicitly opted in.
Data sent through the API is retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted.
10. Does Upfluence use Open API or Partner API connections with social media platforms?
Upfluence uses an API connection for Twitch and Instagram stories.
For other social media platforms, we do not rely on Open API or Partner API connections to collect third-party or proprietary data. Instead, we use alternative data collection and analysis methods.
