To receive payments through Upfluence Pay, you'll need to set up at least one Upfluence Pay account (powered by Stripe). This lets you securely receive payouts via bank transfer or debit card, where available.
Upfluence Pay accounts are currency-specific. Currently, you can set up a USD account or an EUR account, with GBP support coming soon. You can hold both at the same time, each appears separately in your billing settings.
Note: Which account you need is determined by the brand's Upfluence Pay currency. When you claim a payment request, Upfluence will prompt you to create the right one if you don't have it yet.
How to create your Upfluence Pay account
The setup flow is the same for both US and EU platform accounts. The only difference is which Stripe platform you're redirected to in step 3.
Log in to your Creator Space and go to Settings > Billing.
Scroll down to the Payment Methods section. You'll see cards for both the US platform and the EU platform.
Click Configure under the platform you want to set up, then check the terms and conditions checkbox and click Create. You'll be redirected to Stripe's hosted setup page for that platform.
Enter your email address and phone number, then click Continue.
Note: Your email will become your Stripe login and your phone number will be used for verification. Make sure both are valid.
Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your phone.
Select the country where you or your business legally operates and choose your business type:
Individuals: Use your home address country.
Companies: Use your registered business country.
Add your payout method (bank account or debit card, where available).
Accept the Stripe Service Agreement and click Agree and Submit.
Once submitted, you'll be redirected back to Settings > Billing. Stripe will verify your information, which may take a few hours. You can check your account status there at any time.
🚨 Important: Double-check your payment details (especially IBAN or account number). Transfers sent to the wrong account are irreversible.
Setting up an account directly from a payment request
If you receive a payment request that requires a platform account you haven't set up yet, you can create one directly from the payment request page without going to your billing settings first.
On the payment request page, click Create account.
Read the terms and conditions, check the confirmation checkbox, then click Create.
You'll be redirected to Stripe to complete your account setup. Follow the same steps as described above.
Once done, you'll be brought back to your payment request automatically.
If you already have an account on a different platform, it will appear as non-selectable on the payment request page. Only the account matching the brand's payment currency can be used to claim that payment.
FAQs
1. Why does my Upfluence Pay account say “Pending”?
You may have incomplete information on file. Log in to Stripe and update the missing details. If everything looks complete, Stripe may still be verifying your information — this can take up to 24 hours. If the status persists, log in to your Stripe account directly to find out more.
2. Do I need both a US and EU platform account?
Only if you receive payments from brands using both USD and EUR Upfluence Pay accounts. If you're unsure, you'll be prompted to create the right one when you claim a payment request.
3. I already had an Upfluence Pay account before, where did it go?
Accounts created before the multi-currency update are automatically shown under the US platform card in your billing settings. Nothing has changed for those accounts.
4. Can I link an existing Stripe account?
No. Upfluence Pay uses Stripe Express, which is separate from a standard Stripe account. Existing Stripe accounts cannot be connected.
5. Can I change the country of my Stripe account?
Yes, but you’ll need to delete your Stripe account and start over.

Important: If your account has a remaining balance, it cannot be deleted. If you've already claimed a payment request, wait until your balance reaches $0 before deleting.
6. I can’t find my bank during Stripe setup (Japan-specific)
If you're based in Japan, Stripe supports payouts only to banks participating in the Foreign Exchange Yen Clearing System (FXYCS).
If your bank doesn’t appear, try registering another bank account

7. How can I get paid by brands through Upfluence Pay?
