How to compensate influencers with products

Learn how to add products as a compensation as a part of your campaign

Workflow is our campaign management app that allows you to effectively manage the collaboration process with the influencers you work with. In this article, you will deep dive into how to set up a product or, product & payment campaign especially, in how to add products as compensation.

How does it work?

1️⃣ Campaign creation

Create a new Workflow campaign and select either

  • Product gifting

  • Paid promotion with gifting

Then click on "Configure my campaign" to add your campaign information.

2️⃣ Add Products and manage products availability

On this page simply, click on the "Add Products" button and a window will open to allow you to add the products of your choice.

You have two options to add products, you can add products manually or Import products from your Shop (only available for Shopify/WooCommerce users).

  • Add products manually

Here you need to add all the details of your products (product name, picture, price, physical or digital, options, if necessary). This configuration system allows you to add any type of product you would like (products, vouchers, apparel, dematerialized content, etc.).

You can turn off or on the shipping address form on the application depending on the type of product you have.

A truck icon will be displayed to let you know that the product imported requires a shipping address.

When you add everything, click on "Save Product" and repeat the process to add more products.

You can now specify exactly how many of each product you want to send.

NOTE: Once you finish adding all products don't forget to add the amount of Product Allowed (number or value). If you don't add one, influencers will be able to select as many products as they want.

You can also limit each product to a single quantity in campaigns, preventing influencers from receiving multiple variants of the same item.

You are able to add, delete products and modify product options or manage product availability at any time provided in your workflow campaign settings.

You can only delete or modify a product or option if the product hasn't been selected yet. If the product or option is already selected, You simply need to switch off the product or option availability toggle to make it unavailable for influencers.

NOTE: Don't forget to click on "Save" to save your product to the campaign.

  • Import product from your Shop ( available only for Shopify or WooCommerce users)

With this option, you can quickly import products from your store. You don't need to manually add options to your products, everything is directly added from your store. However, if an influencer selects a product, the order won’t be fulfilled in your shop.

To add products, simply select the products and click on add products.

You can only add 10 products at a time. If you want to add more than 10 products, select 10 products and add them and then click again on "+ Add products". Repeat the process until you added all the products you wanted.

NOTE: Any stocks updates from your store won't change the availability on Upfluence. Please make sure your products are updated.

You can also import digital products, depending on the CMS selected, we will indicate if the product requires a shipping address :

  • From Shopify, we will consider that the product requires a shipping address if the option “This is a physical product” has been checked.

  • From WooCommerce, awe will consider that the product requires a shipping address if the options “virtual” or/and “downloadable” has been checked.

A truck icon will be displayed to let you know that the product imported requires a shipping address.

To update a product availability, you just need to click on the toggle in your campaign settings → Compensation.

You can only delete or modify a product if influencers did NOT select this product yet. If the product is already selected, you simply need to switch off the product or option availability toggle to make it unavailable for influencers.

TIPS: For product options, you are only able to manage their availability. You can't update the name of this option.

NOTE: Don't forget to click on "Save" to save your product to the campaign after you made your modification.

3️⃣ Product Selection Quantity and availability.

The Limit the total number and Limit the total Value options enable you to choose the number/ total value of products each influencer can select as compensation. This allows you to limit the selection while still offering a wide choice of products.

You can also limit each product to a single quantity in campaigns, preventing influencers from receiving multiple variants of the same item.

If you don't add a limit of products, influencers will be able to selects as many products they want.

4️⃣ Invite influencers to your campaign and see their product selection and shipping information.

Once everything is ready, your products have been added, your campaign brief is created, and your emails edited, you can now invite influencers to join your campaign.

Click on “Send application form” to send the inviting email containing the link to the campaign invitation page. On this page, they can access your campaign brief and select the products they would like.

When your invitation has been accepted and products selected, you will be able to see all of this information (Product selection, shipping address, etc.) directly in your Workflow campaign dashboard.

If none of the products selected by the influencer requires a shipping address, we won't ask for it during the application process and the shipping address field will stay empty.

You can also download the product selections and addresses to easily share this information with your team. Select the influencer and click on the "download" button.

An in-platform notification and an email will also be sent to you to let you know that the influencer has applied.

You can also check influencers' applications in your Upfluence Workflow Dashboard in your Activity feed.

If you have any questions about the choice of product or the address provided, we advise you to contact the influencer by email directly.

When the product is sent to influencers you can click on “Product Sent” to validate the product shipment to the influencers. You can edit the template for this shipment notification email in your campaign settings if you wish.
