Previously, once a single code had been generated from the pattern set in the tracking plan, the field locked for good. If a pattern relied on something like a creator's social media handle (@pinterest) and the creator didn't have that platform, code generation just failed, and the only fix was opening a support ticket.
From now on: fixing a code pattern is instant and self-serve!
Here's what's new
Edit the code pattern anytime
The code pattern field on any Tracking Plan is now always editable, whether or not codes have already been generated. It opens pre-filled with the current pattern and can be edited. Before saving, a confirmation step spells out exactly which codes are affected: only future and errored codes pick up the new pattern.
Self-serve fix for failed codes
When code generation fails because a creator is missing something the pattern needs, like a Pinterest username, clicking the error label now opens a popover naming exactly what's missing. From there, an "Edit code pattern" button jumps straight into the Tracking Plan form with the field focused, so you can fix the root cause without opening a ticket.
This update removes the last blockers around code pattern changes and gives you a direct, self-service path when generation fails.
