Country and Geolocation Field in Search Tool: How Does It Work?

Why Do I See Influencers From Other Locations Even Though I Set The Filter?

Updated over a week ago

How It Works:

The country information in our search tool is determined by AI, analyzing data provided by the influencers in their profiles.

For instance, if an influencer explicitly states they're based in the UK, we use this information to identify their location.

When you apply a country filter in a search, the tool considers two main aspects:

  1. The influencer's actual location as stated in their profile.

  2. The location related to their last posted content, primarily from Instagram. This could be the country mentioned in their recent posts.

Why Might It Be Incorrect Sometimes? There are a few reasons why the location data might not always be accurate:

  • Change of Location: The influencer might have moved to a different place since their last update.

  • Tagged Locations: Influencers might tag themselves in different locations in their recent posts, which can mislead the location data.

  • Content Language: Sometimes, the language of the content may suggest a different geographic location.

These factors can contribute to discrepancies in the geolocation data, leading to instances where influencers from other locations appear in your search results despite the country filter.

Why is the location missing even when it's clearly mentioned in the influencer's bio?

Sometimes, the location might be missing because the creator mentioned a city but not a country in their bio, and our system couldn't automatically match the city to a specific country.
