How to fix custom field errors when importing BigCommerce products into Upfluence

Ensure mandatory custom fields have default values to avoid order failures

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Some BigCommerce products include custom fields (e.g., embroidered names on t-shirts). If these fields are mandatory but lack default values, it can cause errors during product imports and one-click order creation.

Importing products with custom fields

  • During product imports, Upfluence scans for customizable fields that do not have default values.

  • If a product has mandatory custom fields without defaults, it cannot be imported into Upfluence.

  • A message will alert you to this issue and provide a link to the BigCommerce product listing for correction.

💡 Solution: Before importing, ensure all required custom fields have a default value in BigCommerce.

How to assign a default value to a custom field in BigCommerce

  1. Open BigCommerce and go to View Products.

  2. Select the product you want to modify.

  3. Click Customization in the left-side panel.

  4. Click Configure Options.

  5. Ensure that all required fields have a default value.

  6. Save changes and resync the product in Upfluence.
