Some products on a BigCommerce store can feature custom fields, such as embroidered names on t-shirts. Certain custom fields are mandatory, but they may not have default values. This situation leads to issues in the order creation process.
Importing products
When importing products a background process will read customizable options and identify products that have such fields with no default values, said products will not be available for importing until a default value is set up on BigCommerce.
A message reads this information and includes a link to BigCommerce product listing.

Creating one click orders
When creating a one click order for a product that is imported but does not have a default value for a mandatory customizable fields, an error is received informing the user of why the order creation failed.
It also includes a link to learn how to correct this error as well as a resync button for when it has been corrected.

Assigning a default value to the custom field
While on big commerce we start by selecting view products
Select the product you want to modify and then click on customization on the left side panel
Then click on configure options
Here we just need to make sure that all fields marked as required have a default value
