Why do I need to select a billing country?

Understand how we adapt payment options depending on your billing country and influencers' invoicing country

Updated over a week ago

When creating your campaign on the Workflow, you have to select your "Billing Country" in the dedicated field. There are two options "United States of America" or "Other countries". Why these two options?

Depending on your billing country, some documents will be requested from influencers when they will be filling in their billing information. In particular, the W8 and W9 forms will be mandatory to proceed to the payment of your influencers. These two forms are not mandatory for other countries.

🔎 Reminder: What are W8 & W9 forms and when are they required?

W8/W9 forms are required for tax purposes when one of the parties, either you (as a company) or the influencer, is based in the USA / is American.

  • The W8 form is required for any partnership between a U.S. company and a non-U.S. influencer

  • The W9 form is required for any partnership between a U.S. company and a U.S. influencer

  • for any other partnership (a non-U.S. company & a non-U.S. influencer or a non-U.S. company & a U.S. influencer) there is no need for W8/W9

From the influencer's point of view:

Depending on the influencer’s country and the billing country you previously defined in the Workflow, the system will request a W8 or W9 if needed. Easy!
