Here's a helpful video on how to do this:
Upfluence allows you to integrate your email service providers with Upfluence in order to seamlessly reach out and communicate with your influencers.
NOTE: You can connect an unlimited number of desired email accounts with Upfluence. This integration will allow you to send and receive influencer communications within Upfluence using your company/business email address.
Add Outlook to Upfluence
From your Upfluence Account, click on Integrations
Scroll down and find the section dedicated to emails. Then click on the "Connect" button on the Microsoft Account card.
A Microsoft authentication window will appear. Enter the email address you want to connect to and validate your choice.
In the second step, Microsoft authentication asks you to authorize the connection between Upfluence and your Microsoft account. Click "Yes".
NOTE: Upfluence does not store your emails and we respect all the rules related to the GDPR. All your conversations are linked to your account only.
Your Microsoft account is now connected to Upfluence 🤙🏻
Frequently Asked Questions
1. When trying to connect my Outlook account, Upfluence automatically signs into my personal email. How do I avoid this?
You can prevent the automatic sign-in to your personal email by using an incognito tab for the sign-up process.
2. How many Outlook accounts can I connect to my account?
You can connect an unlimited number of Outlook emails to your account.
3. Can I send two mailings at once if I integrate two or more Outlook accounts?
Yes, you can send two mailings at once if you use different email addresses. Each email address has its own scheduling, regardless of the account login.
If two users send emails using the same email address, the emails will be queued and sent sequentially.
If two users use different email addresses, the emails will be sent simultaneously, without delays affecting one another.
4. I can't connect my Outlook/365 account, why?
It's likely that your account is currently not able to integrate. This integration only works if you have a Microsoft online exchange inbox and not on a dedicated Microsoft Exchange Server. The only condition to make the integration work is to have the emails stored on Microsoft servers.
To confirm you can test your eligibility by connecting here: https://outlook.live.com/mail/about/index_en.html
If you are able to send and receive your email from the Outlook web-app, the integration should work for you.
NOTE: We do not support aliases or group emails (like hello@upfluence.com for example). There is no mailbox attached to this kind of email address.
5. My emails stopped being sent, what might be wrong and how to resolve this?
In general, sending emails is only interrupted when Outlook stops us to do so. There can be several reasons for this.
Possibility 1: Outlook integration is disabled:
Your password has been modified
If you have recently changed your Outlook/365 password, your integration will be disabled because the connection will no longer be authorized. To correct this problem, set up the Outlook integration again to create a new connection.
An admin set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
When an admin enforces 2FA after you have already set up a connection, your integration will be disabled because the connection is no longer authorized. To correct this problem, set up the Outlook integration again to create a new connection.
Upfluence connection was revoked on Outlook
You or an Admin can revoke Upfluence's ability to interact with your Outlook account. This is done via Outlook. If you've done this by mistake, simply set up a new integration using your account credentials. If an Admin on your Outlook account has made this change, you must reach out to your Outlook Admin or your IT department.
Connection expired
The last possibility is that your connection was inadvertently broken. This can happen when your connection expires. To correct this problem, set up the Outlook integration again to create a new connection.
Possibility 2: Daily sending limit
According to Microsoft, there are different limits on how many emails you can send from your Exchange, Outlook & Office 365 business accounts.
Outlook and Basic Office 365
Outlook and Basic Office 365 users generally do not have defined rate limits:
These can vary based on how many users are on your domain and how old your team is.
The limit is based on your account reputation.
The limit is lower for new accounts and when Outlook.com has spotted what it deems suspicious activities.
Exchange and Office 365 Business accounts
Microsoft restricts you to 10,000 daily recipients. This limit works on a rolling timer, rather than a daily timer, which means that your Outlook email recipient limits will reset 24-hours after you’ve reached them, rather than at 12 a.m. the next day.
If you know you have reached your daily sending limit, you will need to wait until the next day in order to send more emails.
For example, a user sends an email message to 5000 recipients at 09:00 AM, then sends another message to 2500 recipients at 10:00 AM, and then sends another message to 2500 recipients at 11:00 AM, hitting the limit of 10,000 messages. The user won't be able to send messages again until 09:00 AM the next day.
Possibility 3: Outlook account verification
If you are facing this error message, please read the following instructions:
Before you can send emails, Microsoft will need to verify your account. Please follow the instructions provided by Microsoft in your online mailbox.
For email addresses that have just been created, Outlook has implemented "anti-spam" security to prevent emails from being used for mass emailing.
If you have just created your Outlook account, you are likely to receive an error message when you want to send your first emails with your Outlook email address.
If you receive an error message, it is necessary to check your Outlook account after 1 and 10 emails are sent with the email address.
We suggest that you warm up your email address by sending about ten emails before you start using it in Upfluence.
6. How to warm up an email address?
Send a small number of emails and increase it slowly. On the first day send around 20 emails, then the next day sends 40 emails, etc … It’s important to increase slowly the amount of emails to avoid triggering spam filters.
One thing to also consider is to modify your email content to look less “commercial” or “spammy”.
7. What data is accessed with an Outlook integration, and how does it work?
Read Emails: Only new emails linked to Upfluence are accessed, using identifiers to target relevant ones.
Write Emails: Clients can write and send emails directly from Upfluence.
Security Note:
All stored emails are encrypted.
Only emails related to Upfluence are accessed.
