How to edit my merge fields

Using merge fields is a great way to customize your mailing at scale. You can edit influencers' merges fields on the software in different ways:

On influencer's profiles

Open the influencers side panel from any Upfluence tool and click on "influencer" on the right of the top blue bar. Here you can edit any merge fields and even add new merge fields as well.

While editing your email template

When you are editing your mailings, you can add influencer merge fields directly from the preview mode. This means that if a merge field is missing, we will add it to the influencer's profile with the value chosen.

You can find your new merge field on influencers' profiles in the section influencer and use it in your mailing.

In the Influencer Relationship management tool (IRM)

Add the merge field you want to edit using the Manage Fields dropdown menu. Click on "add value" to edit the merge field value.

Using a .csv file

You can also mass edit merge fields from a .csv spreadsheet in 4 steps:

  1. Download your influencer list using the "Move to" button. Click on "File" and select either .csv or .xlsx.

    For users with the "all" data export options select "Basic data" to not use your export credits.

  2. Add new columns to create new merge fields.

    You will be able to add new columns that will be automatically converted as merge fields to personalize your emails even more. i.e. product/price/shoe_size/tracking_number etc.

  3. Fill in the columns with the information you want to use.

  4. Download your spreadsheet as a .csv file

  5. Upload it to the database

NOTE: Depending on the number of influencers you have on your spreadsheet, it may take a couple of minutes for all of the influencers to appear on your list.
