If you received a job offer, a message on WhatsApp or Telegram, or instructions to complete paid tasks on behalf of "Upfluence", this is a scam. Upfluence is not behind it.
This page explains what's happening and what to do.
What is this scam?
Fraudsters are using Upfluence's name, logo, and business details to make a fake job scheme look legitimate.
It usually starts with an ad on TikTok or Instagram promising easy income for watching videos or completing simple online tasks. From there, victims are contacted on WhatsApp, then moved to Telegram, where a "teacher" or "supervisor" walks them through a task platform. At some point, you're asked to pay money to unlock your earnings, fix a mistake, or raise your score. The amounts keep increasing, and the money is never returned.
Payments in this scam are typically requested via Twint, BingX, or other crypto platforms.
Upfluence does not do this
Upfluence is a B2B software company. We build tools for brands and agencies to run influencer marketing campaigns. We do not recruit individuals for paid task jobs, and we have no affiliation with any platform asking you to complete orders or send money.
We will never:
Contact you via WhatsApp or Telegram to offer a job
Assign you a teacher or supervisor to complete tasks
Ask you to pay fees, taxes, or deposits to access your earnings
Ask you to place or repurchase orders on an external platform
If someone is doing any of these things and claiming to represent Upfluence, it is not us.
What to do if you've been targeted
Stop all contact immediately. Do not send any more money, no additional payment will recover what you've already lost.
Then:
Report it to your local police. File a report as soon as possible.
Contact your bank or payment provider. If you sent money via bank transfer, call your bank right away. For Twint, contact the bank linked to your account. For crypto platforms like BingX, contact their support though recovery is rarely possible.
Report the ad. Use the in-app reporting tools on TikTok or Instagram to flag the ad as fraudulent.
