How to update your Shopify AST script for improved tracking

Now supports Shop Pay and provides more complete sales tracking

🚨 If you installed the Shopify AST script before January 17, 2026, this update is for you.

This update includes improved support for Shop Pay, giving you more complete and accurate sales tracking across Shopify checkout flows.

To take advantage of this update, you’ll need to replace your current tracking script in Shopify with the new version from Upfluence.

Step 1: Find your new AST script in Upfluence

  1. Log in to your Upfluence account

  2. Click your profile picture or initials in the bottom-left corner

  3. Select Integrations

  4. Find your AST integration linked to your Shopify store

  5. Click the three dots (⋯) and choose View Script

  6. Click Copy, then save the script somewhere, you’ll need it in the next step

Step 2: Update the script in Shopify

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin

  2. Go to Settings > Customer events > Custom pixels

  3. Locate your existing Upfluence AST event and click its name to open it

  4. Delete the old code from the script editor

  5. Paste the new script you copied in Step 1

  6. Click Save in the black banner at the top of your screen

💡 Note: If the Customer events section is greyed out, check that you have full admin permissions in Shopify.
